DankLog Digest #1: The Basics

DankLog Digest #1: The Basics

This is the DankLog Digest, a short email from the DankLog team that arrives about once a month. Here is issue #1, the whole thing: five reads worth your time, a vibe spotlight, and two practical tips. If you want the next one, the signup form is at the bottom of this page.

A note from Tony

Hey, Tony here. This is the first ever DankLog Digest, and I’m glad you’re reading it. The plan is simple: once a month we send a short read covering what we published, one thing worth trying in the app, and a couple of pieces to put on your radar. No fluff, no walls of text. The whole thing should fit a coffee break.

We built DankLog because tracking your sessions changes what you notice about them. Patterns surface. The Digest is our way of pointing you to the stuff worth reading and nudging you toward the features that make those patterns easier to see.

Vibe spotlight: Relax

Relax is one of the twelve vibes you can tag a session with in DankLog. It is the one to reach for when the goal is winding down rather than stacking on more energy.

Here is the useful part: a vibe tag only pays off if you tag it honestly. If you have been defaulting to Focus or Energy but the sessions have not been landing, try logging Relax for a week, then read back your sessions and see which ones landed. Sometimes that small bit of honesty is the whole fix. Pair it with a lighter format, a lower dose, or a strain on the mellow end, and you are more likely to get the session you were actually after.

Not using DankLog yet? Here is a look at the features.

Good to know: hydration and onset timing

Two small things that quietly decide how a session goes. First, hydration. Cannabis can leave you drier than you expect, so keep water within reach and sip before you think you need it, not after. Second, if you are reaching for an edible or a drink instead of inhaling, give it room to land. Onset can run anywhere from thirty minutes to two hours depending on your stomach and the format, so log the dose, note the time, and wait it out before adding more. The one to avoid is stacking a second dose at the forty-minute mark because the first has not hit yet.

Tip of the month: Give your stash a five-minute audit

Light and heat are the two fastest ways to lose the terpenes you paid for. If your jar lives near a window, a stove, or a car, it is degrading faster than it should. The fix is boring and free: move it to a cool, dark, interior spot. If you deal with humidity swings, a two-way humidity-control pack in the right range keeps flower from drying brittle or going moldy.

The full breakdown, including the humidity range to aim for, is in How to Store Cannabis: Keeping Your Stash Fresh and Potent.
